Reunion dinner
We said goodbye to the lunar year of the Rabbit with a family reunion dinner on the eve of Chinese New Year.
Sean was feeling quite unwell earlier this week with some sort of mild food poisoning or stomach bug. I was quite stressed because he hasn't been able to keep much food down but thankfully, he recovered somewhat just in time for the festivities!
We started the evening with our usual 'lo-hei', which I doubt Sean remembers from his previous CNY's because he was quite bewildered by the raucous-ness of it ;)
This was followed by a huge sumptuous steamboat of the freshest ingredients. We probably hit our meat/seafood quota for the whole week in just one meal. BURP!
Because I am pretty much the size of a house now (35/36 weeks!), everyone joked about how if I wanted to have the FIRST dragon baby of the year, I should go into labour right about then in order to pop the baby out by midnight.
Err, no thanks! I'm not ready yet!
In all, we had a great dinner, a perfect welcome for the new Dragon Year.
