Christmas at home

Dec 28, 2011 09:49

I love Christmas mornings.

In our house, the kitchen is a big hive of activity and there is always that certain giggly excitement of frantic last-minute gift wrapping, and not-so-discreet shoving of presents under the tree.

Over the years, I have enjoyed watching both Foops and JP being introduced to the merrymaking.

And now that Sean is older, he can partake - and contribute - to the madness too!

For brunch this year, we tucked into a wonderful spread of roast chicken, black pepper beef, deviled eggs, roasted veggies, pineapple rice, sausages, freshly squeezed lime juice - all prepared by my supermum from scratch, if I may add.

She always says that's her Christmas gift to us and I think it beats all our store-bought gifts any day :)

Cher also got us a big log cake for dessert - yep, we stuck a few lighted candles in it and let Sean go wild with it :)

Then with our very happy and full tummies, we gathered round the tree and dug right into the presents.

Oh, what a long way we have come from the days when my mum would give us $10 and we siblings would dart around the neighbourhood mall furtively to look for the perfect Secret Santa gift!

Plenty of laughs, as always. The more memorable presents this year include: Sean's Cars-themed Crocs (he loved the tanker Jibbitz thingy and was using it to 'shoot' everyone *roll eyes*), Mum's extremely ticklish furry neck massager and aptly-named Puzzle Book for Wrinklies (haha), Pris' fuzzy grey bodysuit pajamas which more looked like a mouse costume for Halloween, matching Threadless tees for Leon+Sean and Foops+Sean+Baby#2 and a beautiful set of photo frames for our new place from my cousin Yuan :)

HO-HO-HO!

Hope your Christmas was special too. Happy holidays, everyone!

celebrations, family
