The holidays are here and I'm in the mood to cook. (It's a great feeling after two seasons of "ugh, cooking=bad, tired icky".)
Also, it is my one year anniversary at work next* Thursday, and my one year anniversary of Mastering Accounting the following Sunday (the 18th). As such, there will be cooking by me and hopefully eating by you NEXT Saturday (the 17th) starting in the evening around 8:00 at my home for a pre-Solstice celebration.
I'm thinking all the horrible, sugar-filled, cookies, candies, fruit cake and other necessities (like egg nog) will be there. I'm even considering MAKING eggnog from SCRATCH. Mmmm, egg nog (anyone know a good source of high quality eggs that won't poison anyone?)
So, bring those Christmas cookies, excessive mulling spices, fruit cakes (but only if they aren't bricks), candy canes, and other traditional winter energy storage foods.
I'll try to find some source of protein (in addition to the eggnog) to keep us from falling into insulin shock. Though, perhaps that's the point of eggnog.....
*In Michelle use, "This Xday" refers to the Xday** occurring during the current week and "Next Xday" refers to the Xday occurring in the following week. The exception: Sunday. There is no next Sunday, there is only this Sunday which occurs between 1 and 6 days from the current date when spoken. There is, however, the FOLLOWING Sunday but must be used in reference to another "Next Xday" There is also some "this/next Monday" confusion, but only on weekends.
**Xday is not realted to X-Mas. Which is a day to celebrate more X-Men movies.
