I got a rash for Christmas!
No seriously my legs and stomach are dotted with itchy red bumps. I'm hoping that they are a psychosomatic reaction to Christmas (I've determined that despite my resolution to enjoy Christmas this year, it is really not my favorite holiday) rather than poison ivy (how in December I'm not sure)or a newfound allergy. I ate an obscene amount of olivio scucciate (Uncle Joe's olive salad)and cannoli, and I'd rather be mentally ill than have an allergy to salty, delicious olives or walnuts.
We also determined that the seldom used idiom "happy as a pig in shit" was the most apt expression for Daisy this morning as she joyously keened while ripping open her 79 cent rawhide and then tore all the wrapping paper into confetti. For breakfast she had her own waffle and a good portion of the eggs I didn't want to eat. All in all, her day was better spent than mine feeling itchy, tired, and anxious.
