Affordable 458SOCOM ammunition

Given the high cost of 458SOCOM ammo, I was interested in finding less costly practice ball. 350gr SBR FMJ comes close at $42.25 per box of 20, but even less expensive choices would be nice. Enter Carson hard-cast 300gr ball, about $32.87 per box of 20. Carson loads two versions, standard power and slightly reduced loads. The cast bullet is hard enough to avoid barrel or gas port leading, and it can be used as a non-expanding hunting round with performance identical to 45-70 flat point.







Carson also loads a variety of other bullets. He claims SD under 10fps and correspondingly good accuracy.
