Spider anonymous September 19 2009, 05:52:42 UTC
As a Washington resident, my first guess was a Hobo Spider...that is what the thorax and legs look like. But...that abdomen looks WAY too big. I mean...it almost looks like a tick that has been feeding.

If I saw that in my house, I would run screaming to get my wife to take care of it. The ONLY thing I dislike about the fall around here is that the spiders start trying to come inside to get out of the cold.

Spiders outside, while I hate walking through their webs in the morning, are okay. We have a truce. When they violate the truce and come inside, it's a free fire zone.

Hope you enjoyed your trip to Washington!

Araneus marmoreus I think anonymous September 19 2009, 10:24:10 UTC
I could be wrong but I think it's the Araneus marmoreus (Marbled orb weaver). The eye pattern and leg coloring matches, the coloration can vary but orange is a common color so I think it's a match.

Да, похоже, что крестовик мраморный, как тебе уже выше написали. Или что-то очень близкое. Вообще - красивый.
