I felt like doing an update even though there isn't too much to talk about. Going to take in the Highland Festival tomorrow which I am actually really looking forward to. Never been. Maybe Sean will be playing.
Life has been pretty good to me. Work is really going well. Getting lots of flights in and really finally feeling confident about nearly every aspect of my responsibilities. I don't think there is much now that I don't instantly know how to fix or otherwise deal with. Plus, with the exception of "Bugsy" aka Papa Brian I'm the most senior crew member. That's kind of a nice feeling. Graham and I are for the most part Team CTV and I do think we make a pretty darn good team. We have our little unspoken systems and get along real well during launch, chase, and retrieve. It's a lot of fun. I'm lucky that way, to be able to have so much fun at work. The season has been spectacular thus far *knock on wood*. I think we're at 52 flights since May 1. That's sensational. Highest in the country by a lonnng shot. Had some issues with multiple pilots coming and going, but I think we're set now and so far things are fine. Graham and I are learning lots about this new pilot (he's English - irrelevant aside from me loving his accent). Couple nights ago the flight was cancelled in the field and the whole crew went for pool and beer which spawned excessive laughing and immitations of last year's pilot Serge. Good immitations - he was quite the character. Afterward on the way home I was starving so my crewmate and I hit up Applebees. Good times.
This morning another crew member, Bob, incited mass reciting of Nursery Rhymes and constant shouting of, "Do you know...the MUFFIN MAN???" That's just what happens at that early early hour. It was definitely a highlight.
No flight in the morning thanks to "severe thunderstorm activity". So I get to sleep in. Woot scoot ka bootle. Very exciting.
