Trap

It already been a few hours and Stiles was looking over Beacon Hills from one of the many overhangs that graced the area.  Danny, Allison, and him were helping the new werewolves train their senses by acting as bait.  Scott and Derek were suppose to run interference.  If the three humans were not found by midnight, everyone was suppose to meet back at the house.  Stiles glanced at his watch, noting he had ten minutes before he needed to head back.  After tossing a stick over the edge, the teen moved into the trees heading toward the creek.  He would use the creek to guide him to the lake which was behind the house.

A howl echoed through the forest, Derek signalling for everyone to come back.  Stiles continued along the creek, watching for any of the others.  Back at the house Derek watched as the werewolves came back in; only Lydia had found someone.  Allison and her were walking close together talking about how to make it more challenging for the female in the future.  Scott, Derek's second, was leading Danny into the clearing, having found the human using a moss covered tree as his hiding space.  The alpha noted Stiles was not back yet; he frowned as he tilted his head back scenting the wind to see if the human was nearby.

"Did anyone find Stiles?"  Scott asked the five trainees.

"No."  Erica snarled, her hair was covered in some algae,  "I lost his trail around the ravine."  Isaac echoed his own agreement, but he was still in clean clothes.  Jackson did not bother to answer his attention on Danny.

"I managed to chase him for a bit, but I got caught in a wire trap."  Allison grinned brightly at Boyd.

"Wire trap?"  the others asked.  Scott nuzzled his girlfriend, a grin splitting his face in half.

"The bait were to use any means at their disposal."  Derek stated, "They had time before the meeting to set up any supplies and traps they wanted."  He glared over at the two humans present.  "They are also expected to take them down tomorrow."  Danny and Allison nodded quickly.  Everyone in the clearing was twitching in place waiting for Stiles to show up and after twenty minutes Derek growled in frustration.

"Can we go?"  Jackson asked; he was leaning against the Porsche with Danny and Lydia sitting nearby.

"Go, but I want all of you here tomorrow after five.  Danny, Allison I want you here first thing in the morning to go over the hunt.  Scott, go I'll get Stiles."  The older Beta joined his girlfriend in her car.  The group of teens quickly took off from the house leaving Derek to hunt down their pack mate.  The werewolf headed into the house to strip leaving his clothes on the couch, it would be easier to hunt Stiles down as a wolf.  The black wolf leapt off the porch, his nose already catching the old trail from several hours ago.  He ignored it in favor of scenting the wind for a fresh smell.  Growling in defeat, Derek headed for the lake assuming Stiles would use the creek to find his way back.

The wolf crossed trails of different scents, mostly the pack but a few of the Argents.  Stiles smelled crossed his path many times, the teen had double back during the hunt today.  Derek felt a swell of pride for having a clever pack mate.  He shook his head clearing his nose of the skunk scent when he heard the teen cursing.  Derek huffed when he came upon the sight of the teen.  Stiles was hanging upside down from one of the wire traps; he was curled upwards trying to cut the wire with the silver knife in his hand.  The wolf circled underneath the struggling teen, his eyes watching every movement the human made.

"You could help, you know."  Stiles let go of the wire, his head coming eye level with Derek's snout.  The werewolf lowered himself onto the ground, stretching out fully and closing his eyes.  "Bastard,"  Stiles pulled himself back up, grabbing the cord.  "I liked you better when you didn't have a sense of humor."  The teen went back to work on the wire, slowly slicing through the metal.  The area was quiet as he worked; Stiles was not paying attention when he managed to slice through.  The teen yelped as he was let go; he landed on the ground next to a snickering wolf.  "Laugh it up."

Derek stood up nudging the human in the right direction
