Life: Be In It!

Is it just me, or does it seem like the weather patterns have changed permanently? I mean, the last 2 summers have been cool and rainy and my backyard is starting to resemble a rainforest. It seems like I never need to go outside and water the plants in my pots anymore because it rains every evening. I can't even keep up with mowing the lawn, it grows like crazy and then it will rain on my days off.  Whatever...Maybe this is what it's like to live in London or Seattle.

I've been busy lately. When I'm not working out at the gym, I'm putting in OT at work. It's good for my bank account but doesn't leave me much free time. I've been pretty much keeping to myself anyway, although I did get out and circulate a little bit this past weekend. I finally got my guest room all painted, a nice change from the midnight blue ceilings and fluorescent yellow walls. And it was such a tiny room, it was like night in there all the time. Now that I'm a day person I like it bright in here. It seems like I've emerged from my cave, blinking in the sunlight, to rejoin the ranks of The Living.

My diet is going well; people at work tell me I'm losing "a gang of weight" although I can't tell. My trainer will weigh and measure me again in another 6 weeks and we shall see. In the meantime I see her once a week for what she calls "anchor workouts" and the rest of the time I'm on my own. I'm up to an hour of cardio a day and she's adding in drop sets now. I hope I don't wind up looking like Conan (the Barbarian, not O'Brien, although I don't really wanna look like either of 'em) when I get done. Which reminds me, I need to go buy an armband for my IPOD so I can run with it.

Tomorrow is Thursday, 2 more days to go. I live for the weekends now, not to party, just to participate in life. I spend a lot more time at home, or up north with my family, which suits me just fine; I'm sick of the nightlife around here anyway. It's more rewarding to work on my house or lawn.  I like going to bed early. (GASP!) I think I might officially be an adult!
