No I don't mean an arm, a leg or any other body part for that matter! I was actually looking forward to this Leadership Program in London this week, but that was before I started feeling like I did when the 24 hour bug knocked me down on the boat last trip. Yesterday, while I was doing some of the stuff to get ready for the trip, I started feeling a really tight cough develop in my chest. As I was doing my laundry, the headache started and then the chills, muscle aches and fever began. Hopefully, this will be another 24 hour bug and I will be able to sleep all of the way to Gatwick and wake up feeling human again! That being said, this morning I felt notionally better, but that was before bouncing through the clouds over Houston. Right before landing, it felt like my brain was trying to ooze out my ears.
Besides feeling bad yesterday, I also spent some time with the pre-course work I was supposed to do. I was supposed to fill in a work diary breaking the day into 30 minute blocks for a "normal" work week. As if I have a "normal" work week? I haven't even had a "normal for offshore work week in over a year. Even so, I tried to put something together for the course even though my day doesn't break into 30 minute blocks either. I do 10-15 minute tasks or several hour tasks, not much in between. Oh well, I put something together, and if they don't like it, they can spank me if it makes them feel better!
Also while I was on the internet yesterday, I discovered that I have one more task to do for my appraisal for last year. It appears that I have to acknowledge my boss' evaluation of my work and send it back to the web site. The damn thing took 3 hours to download! Once I did finally get it downloaded, I discovered my boss had made a couple of mistakes. One of my goals was only partially achieved yet another was fully achieved. He switched those two. It wouldn't bother me so much except for the fact that the one he mistakenly called partially achieved is worth 14% of my bonus, the one he mistakenly called achieved is only worth 8%. Hopefully, I will be able to sort it out when I get to the hotel in Windsor (assuming they have high speed wi-fi available).
In another bit of randomness, I want to wish a very happy birthday to
sainteelyse I hope you have an excellent day and year to follow!
