Unemployment Week 2 - That Was the Week That Wasn't

Jobs Applied for: 4

It started out very frustrating on Monday trying to contact companies I'd applied to, to "check in", and I kept hitting walls. It was very very frustrating.

The high point of the week was clearing out the Southeast section of the Seattle Public Library. During that, I walked the Chief Sealth Trail for the first time going for the Rainier Beach branch (using a lying map). I got there taking the LInk Light Rail, which was very easy. The Trail runs along the Seattle City Light transmission right of way (so, under the really big power lines). South of Henderson, you can see the trail running across the hills toward the towers of the city, to the east is Lake Washington and Renton and Mercer Island. It was quiet and peaceful.

I did the Northeast section on Wednesday. That whole section's done. And I learned that there's a limit to the number of things you can borrow. 50 items. I know because I reached it.

Today was not so great. Got to the end of a video game I played for most of the day, but didn't get to the feeling of release because I could NOT destroy the final boss.

Plus the whole job seeking, economy sucks, oh look, it's the credit card bill, unemployment is high, health care coverage stuff. It all sucks.

Applying for jobs right away is a problem, since I'm supposed to have three contacts a week, and it's tempting to hold them in reserve for the next week. Of course, then I might miss them.

Plus, I hate applying for jobs.
