Another hallmark holiday is upon us. What makes Father's day a lesser hallmark moment than Mother's day. Is it the fact that in a majority of families the father is non-existent. In today society fathers are becoming more important. Yet little is said of there importance. Society takes glee in the breakdown of the family. Children today don't know the love and joy of being in a two parent home. I wasn't raised by day-care, I had a mother or father who was always home during those years when I was learning about life. This is most important for young men, they need that role model only a father can be. Without him the young man is cast adrift to figure out how to become a man. This is not to say that young men who are fatherless will turn out to be criminals, not a chance. However the young man has a better chance with a loving father than without. This goes for those families where the dad is abusive. Fathers must be a loving model of Jesus Christ in there households. That fathers is the most important job we have, we are charged with being the spiritual heads of our houses. So today dads thank God for the family he has given you and be the dads that God intended you to be.
