Tobias Fornell used his key to let himself into the house.

Gibbs was sitting on the couch.

“I have to go,” he said.

“Oh,” Fornell said as he poured himself some bourbon from the bottle that stood waiting on the coffee table. He noticed that there was only one glass.

He took a large drink and waited a few seconds before he spoke again. Still the words came out harshly.
“Dammit, Jethro. Do you have to prostitute yourself for this case?”

“She knows something, Tobias, that I need to know. And don’t tell me that you wouldn’t do or haven’t done the same.”

“Damn that lawyer chick. I hate her perfume. Maybe I should go home”

“No,” Gibbs said as he stood up and walked over to Fornell. “I want you here when I get back. There is some Chinese food in the kitchen.”

Fornell picked at the General Tso’s chicken. He had several more small bourbons. He even managed to drag out his lap-top and do some work.

The hours ticked slowly past. By one am, he was tired of waiting and tired of drinking. He went upstairs to bed.

At two am, he heard a key in the front door; followed by footsteps: and then the shower being turned on.

About fifteen minutes later, a naked Gibbs emerged from the bathroom toweling his hair dry.

He tossed the towel onto the floor. He lifted the covers and slid into the bed next to Fornell.

He reached his arm over his lover and pulled him close.

Smelling only of soap, he kissed Fornell’s neck and said, “It is all over. I got what I wanted.”
