This needs to be expanded a bit. We don't even meet the Fifty-Nine's second in command and we don't get a sense of why they feel justified in their crusade. Another chapter showing the team having a quick meeting before confronting the KDF would flesh them out.
To be fair, the Fifty-NIners don't put up a good show because they have no idea what they are facing. Even though the KDF has superhuman abilities and advanced tech, I'm sure Commander Barnett would tackle them using RPGs, flashbang grenades and whatever else was required to give the KDF a fight. But you never know. There might be some horrifying cult surfacing in Honolulu that the KDF doesn't trust the Fifty-Nine to be able to handle and the twoi teams might clash head-on again with different results.
