Yay! Finished.
Hmmm... He looks a little stoned.
Here is the finished 'underpainting' - it's just easier to mess with the image in black & white before adding color. I added a background and more seagulls (because there can never be enough), adjusted some of the values in grayscale, and added some 'mist' effects.
The finished image: I slapped on a texture layer overlay, which is colored, and a little additional color on top. I wanted it to look like a tinted photo. Hopefully, it works. Now it's ready to get its ass kicked in competition.
