Rant time
I don't rant that often. Hell, I don't post that often, but it's just that time, I guess. Plus, I haven't drawn anything in pretty much forever.
So in the process of moving to Gainesville (via NC) from Indiana, I somehow misplaced the title to my car. You never know you've lost these things until you go searching for them in the places where you know they should be and they're just not there. Crappy, but most likely a surmountable problem, I think. Apparently not: in order to get a duplicate title from IN, you have to go *in person* to the BMV office. There's no form, no online service. Nothing. That would be fine if I was in Indiana. Unfortunately, I'm in Florida, which is not that close to the BMV. I almost cried in frustration when I realized I'm going to have to fly to IN just to get the damn title. Arrg.
It's also hot here. Shocking, I know - who would've suspected that Florida in July is warm? Sometimes it's unbearably, soul-crushingly hot, other times it's a nice, soft tropical heat. But the hot never stops. I'll blame the heat for how pathetic that rant was.
In better news, I finally got a paper accepted without much struggle and in a pretty nice journal, too. This, after having the last two or so I've tried to submit getting sent back with some devastating reviews - some warranted, some not. So that's one down, four more from the dissertation to go. This is gonna be fun.
