Death Wears a White Robe - The Whistler

This chilling (no pun intended) episode of The Whistler is remarkable in the so much of the action takes place in the last five minutes. There isn't the usual twist ending that explains the protagonist's undoing. I actually had to listen to this episode twice because the ending took me by the surprise and my mind had wandered halfway through. Written by Virginia Teal, it's not too hard to imagine that this story was inspired by a weekend winter getaway that went wrong - or had intolerable company :-) Listen here on YouTube.

"Death Wears A White Robe". Sponsored by: Signal Oil. Two women, with no love lost between them, find themselves alone in a snowy mountain cabin. The show features many histrionics. The cabin high on the slopes of bald mountain had always been an important part of the marriage of Sam and Lea Wixom. A successful marriage on the surface, only two people had any reason to believe otherwise. One was Lea herself and the other her best friend Suzanne.
