How did Lex always manage to talk him into everything he wanted? Clark wondered as he self-consciously wriggled his bare toes. He couldn't stand to look at himself right now, naked as a blue jay as he was, and knew very well, from the heat that spread through his body, that he was clothed almost only in a bright, crimson red.
Lex smiled, his keen, blue eyes surveying Clark's blushing bod with pleased appraisal. Never had he played a game that he had wanted to win so badly. He laid his cards down upon the table with a grin, but that grin became a concerned frown when Clark cried out in dismay.
"Clark," Lex spoke, gently grasping his love's wrist, "it's only a game."
"I know, but -- but -- "
Lex smiled. Even after all these years together, he still couldn't entirely wrap his mind around Clark's shyness. "It's just us, love, and if you strip for me, I'll strip for you."
Lex's smooth sentence stopped Clark's dismal cries with his supple, pink lips still pursed to form a new complaint. His blue eyes darted to Lex's face, and Lex's smile grew as Clark tried to decipher rather or not he was kidding with him. "Really?" he finally asked.
"You only had to ask, sweetheart," Lex told him smoothly and quickly dropped his jacket to the floor. His eyes never left Clark's as he undid his tie and his shirt, and his tie joined his jacket.
Clark's eyes trailed nervously to his pants. Lex reached out, took his hand, and gently placed his trembling fingers upon his belt. "I thought I'd let you undo me there," he spoke huskily. He felt the jump that jolted through Clark's body and lightly ran his fingers over his handsome face. "Did you really think I'd ever ask you to do something that I would not be just as willing, if not perhaps more so, to do for you?" he queried.
"N-No . . . " Clark managed, the embarrassed redness slowly fleeing from his tanned skin. A grin toyed with his mouth as he remembered at last that this was exactly why he always let his beloved Lex talk him into trying new things. Whatever game Lex wanted to try always proved to be far more than worth their while, and they were always winners.
Lex spread his own smile even wider and wriggled his eyebrows at Clark, prompting a bark of deep laughter. He leaned in and captured his lips with his, and suddenly the game didn't matter any longer. It was only another way for them to get closer together, and each enamored man knew that as long as they loved each other, and indeed they always would, they would both always come away the winners of any game they played together!
The End
