AU Background: Kyosuke is from a military family, and expected to follow in his father's footsteps, entering service within Britain's army. His general life was uneventful, save for one fateful event in his teens when he was traveling and the group was beset by creatures of the Rift. Kyosuke was miraculously uninjured, but he was the sole survivor save for one girl, who he helped but was badly injured from the event.
That event had no real impact on his later life, he joined the army and rose in the ranks for being a talented, no-nonsense soldier with the devil's luck. After escaping what seemed an impossible scenario while testing a new prototype combat weapon, he was transferred to a new division within Britain's military.
Personality: Kyosuke is more or less the epitome of stoic. He tends to be very neutral, generally polite in the military personnel manner, and extremely no-nonsense. To a degree, this can make him exceedingly stiff. While he is rarely ruffled and can channel intense focus in combat, it also makes him nigh impossible to read and he has difficulty expressing more complex feelings.
A military man of great renown, Kyosuke has a reputation for his daredevil nature and astonishing luck. Kyosuke is a man who is always willing to, as he says, bet on the long odds. But he is also a man confident in his ability to succeed. He approaches an important mission with a level of inhuman focus that is difficult to meet, and he attacks with a swiftness and brutality that few can withstand.
It should not be said that Kyosuke lacks emotions, just that they are seldom seen. Feelings such love or affection he simply has no idea how to properly express. This is not to say he does not care, but with his stoic nature and general unreadability it's nigh impossible to actually figure out he may harbor such feelings. One emotion that can be seen, however, is anger. When angered, Kyosuke's focus and intensity skyrocket. Kyosuke angered is a terrifying sight to behold, and one nobody wants to be on the receiving end of.
Combat Style: Kyosuke himself is a melee fighter, a powerful combatant who uses a sword with a chamber for explosive rounds that allows him to propel the blade forward like a shotgun slug, giving him great armor penetrating abilities. He also pilots a Gespenst, which is generally unremarkable, although he may soon acquire a new machine called the Alteisen which employs a number of powerful melee-focused weapons to great effect.
