Yeah, it's definitely an improvement over the mustache...but whenever I see a goatee like that, I think, random Friends cast/boy band member or something. It's so dated, hee. Granted, he was right on trend for the time. Probably didn't seem odd at all then.
I think he'd had the mustache for a while; I saw him wearing it in a college photo, and he did have it the first year or two that he was on SportsCenter, so obviously he had it in the '70s/'80s when it was "fashionable", but then just kept it, LOL. Whenever I see old footage of him with it, I can't help but laugh, because I do vaguely, vaguely remember him with it on SportsCenter, when I was much younger. (I was in 1st grade in 1992, his debut year.) xD
If the mustache had been smaller and trimmer, it would've been OK. But it was just too overpowering for his face. I don't like the goatee, either, for the same reason...and it just looks messy.
My take on facial hair is, unless you're really ugly...SHAVE! XD
I'm not happy that the 90's are over, because that's what led to the horrors of the Bush administration in the 2000's. Also, goatees are still very much in fashion, so you can't blame the 90's for that. :-D
That said, I hate goatees. I hate facial hair, period, unless the guy in question is butt-ugly enough to need it for covering his face. XD
Keith really seems to have acquired more style over time. Neither the infamous mustache nor this goatee were a good idea, though they make me giggle.
