I am computer illiterate, did I mention that? Ah well, I'm sure that some time in the oh so distant future I will be competant enough to make my journal look shiney and actually verge on being coherant.
Until then, University! Well, since I'm doing my final film in my last year of uni at Newport things are pretty tense and scary atm, but we still managed to have a laugh during the lecture today by having a "this is what you don't do" session watching films from a, er, well, competing university *cough*Bournemouth*cough* and, seriously, I hope my work never ends up like that. It was technically sound, but the stories were so dead and overblown, not to mention the eye-bleedingly tragic pacing and use of sound, I never felt so relieved to be going to a place that focuses on teaching storytelling more than today. Albeit my technical ability is abysmal and I do have criticisms on the structure of the years and how/what they teach us, but, seriously guys, how hard is it to teach your students to make a film with integrity behind it? WHERE IS THE LOVE?! D8
Alas, poor tech monkeys, they shall be employed, but never unto their dreams.
