FIC: She's My Cherry Pie (Iron Man, Tony/Pepper, PG-13)

The thing is, he really doesn’t want her to be allergic to strawberries. (He doesn’t pause to think that maybe it’s a little ridiculous to not want someone to be allergic to something.)
It’s just that he kind of has a thing for redheads eating strawberries. Not an actual thing, not like that’s what he gets off on or anything, in fact, he’s probably only seen it happen once or twice.
It was hot, though.
Red hair, red lips, red fruit. Hell, while you’re at it, throw in some red lingerie. Color of passion or whatever-it’s hot.
He’d put money on it being hot if Pepper did it. He’d put money on it being hot if Pepper ate a strawberry at all, fully clothed, no lipstick. (Most anything Pepper does is hot in his mind, though, so it’s not much of a gamble.)
He would like to see the way the strawberry sits in her fingers, the way she brings it to her mouth. Her lips open and close around it, teeth sink in. Maybe some juice drips at the corner of her mouth, her tongue slipping out to catch it.
It gets him hard just thinking about it as he’s sitting across from her and she’s lecturing him on some topic he doesn’t remember. He grumbles something about redheads and strawberries.
“What?”
“Redheads and strawberries go well together,” he says.
“Yeah, right until I break out in hives and my tongue swells enough to suffocate me.”
That kills the erection right there.

It doesn’t kill the thought, though.
He still thinks she shouldn’t be allergic, that she would be hot eating strawberries if she wasn’t allergic.
He considers hiring the best chemical nutritionist in the world and paying them until they come up with a cure for allergies to strawberries. They have pills people who are lactose intolerant take so they can drink milk; why not have a pill so Pepper can eat strawberries?
Then he sees Pepper eat a cherry and forgets all his plans.
