bonding time
they were bonding, heechul said and pulled out his yearbook from half a decade ago. he flipped through quickly in front of hyukjae's eyes. he would stop and point at a face, "she cried when i told her she was ugly," he would say. or sometimes, "i rejected her twice," with a small smile. hyukjae listened, thoroughly interested.
they were almost through and heechul stopped, frowning. he grabbed the whole of the pages in one hand and thumbed through each page faster than hyukjae could see. "where...where... last name? ... not lee... ah..." under his breath as his eyes skimmed the faces. when he stopped, the older boy stared down at the page, at a picture, said nothing.
hyukjae leaned closer to his hyung, peeked at the page. "what're you looking at, hyung?" his voice hesitant as he looked back up into heechul's eyes that never left the page or the face. the pages shined in the light just to heechul's left, above hyukjae's head.
"she was really cute," heechul softly smiled. hyukjae frowned and looked at the page.
"who?" a pointed finger traced her slightly round face and hyukjae bit his lip. "h-hyung?" when heechul's finger lifts up, hyukjae looks at her slightly sharp features and her healthy, black hair. she was plain and it bothered him. "her?"
heechul blinked, looked at hyukjae's curious eyes. "yes. why? is there something wrong with her?" he was slightly defensive.
"n-no, hyung, that's not what i meant." hyukjae's teeth caught his bottom lip again as heechul glared, threateningly, under his eyebrows. "do," his eyes stared absently at the wall behind heechul's head, "you think i'm cute?"
a long pause. heechul's eyes narrowed and for a second, hyukjae thought he was going to laugh at him, but he doesn't. his hand disappeared behind hyukjae's head, gently rested at the back of his neck. it took forever but their lips pressed into each other and when heechul pulled back, hyukjae's eyes were wide. "h-hyung?"
"you're the cutest thing i've ever kissed," he grinned and slid his tongue over his lips.
