Thanks to the glorious double-dip of the living broke while performing national service and still getting taxed and the subsequent using the ed award and interest accrued while serving payment and also getting taxed, I owe nearly one grand total to the federal government and to the state this year. Couldn't even deduct money put toward my 403(b) because my AGI was too high. Because of the reported award and interest payment.
I was definitely wise to break up the payments and awards over two years, but this just sucks. Last year, they sucked over 500 bucks out of me. Might not be many bucks for some, but hey, I work for a non-profit. I knew I'd owe, but not this much. Gah.
