PS Recap Eleven: There Is Never Any Foreshadowing in Pokemon Special. Ever.

Because what anonymous wants, anonymous gets! Also I don't feel like doing my homework.

We last left our intrepid protagonists in the middle of an assault on the Saffron City headquarters of Team Rocket. Green was running off in a Professor Oak-ward direction, Red had found a Pie Plate of Doom, and Blue stole the Pie Plate of Doom and made a break for it, leaving Red to almost certain annihilation.

Chapter Thirty-Three: Vs. Three Legendary Birds
Team Rocket is flipping out because those dang delinquent kids went and set their building on fire. Brock shows up unexpectedly to deliver a one-liner. And also an ass-whooping. He gets on the phone with Misty and Erika, who have each done the same with their respective entrances to the building. Cavalry's here, bitches!

Meanwhile, Blue has activated the magic of the Pie Plate of Doom, which causes a giant backlash of energy that fuses the three legendary birds into one monstrous creature.

AI AI CTHULHU FHTAGN

Red and Sabrina freak out slightly, Blue passes out, and Cthulhumon attacks Red, crumbling the wall behind him to reveal his Eevee! Sabrina says that this combination of three elements in a single Pokemon was based on their experiments on Eevee - but since they have the might of an Elder God on their side, they don't need the cute little furball anymore. Red calls out Saur to wreck some shit, but the power of Cthulhumon is too great. Apparently, the Pie Plate of Doom couldn't work without all seven (yes, I mean seven, don't ask) Kanto Badges to power it, and no one in Team Rocket could just go beat all the Gym Leaders for them, because they were too busy being vaguely nefarious or something. So Red and Blue did them a lot of favors by bringing all the badges and stuff. Thanks, suckers! Now Team Rocket can take control of Pallet Town, the last nice place in Kanto left, and ruin it with awfulness, turn the Shire into a wretched hive of scum and villainy, etc.

Well, no one threatens Red's hometown and gets away with their kneecaps unbroken! Red busts out Godmode Pikachu, Green shows up after saving his grandpa, and Sabrina comments that they might have turned out as sexy as Giovanni one day..... ahaha probably not KILL THEM CTHULHUMON! Red realizes that Blue probably wanted that Moon Stone for some smart, Blue-ish reason, and evolves her Clefairy into a Clefable in order to Metronome Cthulhumon in the face...s. But the kids are Sky Attacked out the window and down several stories to the ground. They certainly couldn't have sur -

oh wait they survived that. Because Red's Ivysaur evolved to Venusaur and caught them in a safety net of vines, from which the three of them (Blue un-passed out during the fall :V) combined all their strongest attacks to blast Sabrina and Cthulhumon with a healthy dose of "get that weak shit outta here." It was so strong that it separated the three legendary birds again, and they flew off to be properly traumatized in their own native habitats. The experimental Pokemon were rescued, Blue sulked because she didn't get to commit all the sexy crimes she wanted to commit, and Professor Oak was alright.

And then the building fell down. Three ten-year-olds destroying a skyscraper? BADASS. B)

Chapter Thirty-Four: Vs. Mewtwo
No pics from this chapter because the scans are very low-quality.

With Team Rocket's evil designs foiled for the moment, Blaine has traumatic flashback dreams about the creation of Mewtwo, the most terrible and strongest Pokemon in existence. Red shows up in Cerulean City to hear about a mysterious monster that seems to have taken up residence in a cave just outside the city's western borders. He goes out to investigate despite Bill telling him it's way too dangerous, and finds an area that looks like a tornado hit it. Oh, wait, look, there's a tornado right now OH SHIT THERE'S A TORNADO RIGHT NOW. It appears to be coming from inside the cave.

Everyone's getting sucked towards the center of the vortex, and Red's Pokeballs have been blown away, meaning he can't get them in there and safe. IS THIS....THE END??? Actually, he manages to get a bunch of empties out of his bag and return all his mons safely to his pockets. With everyone's mass drastically reduced, Red's rescued from the tornado by Blaine, who explains that this tornado is the result of an attack by his monstrous creation, Mewtwo. Oh, and Blaine knows this because he has a gross-looking arm tumor thing that can track the creature, because of the power of Pokemon Bullshit Science. \o/

Anyway, it means that Blaine and Mewtwo are ~connected~ and can track each other. Blaine spends a couple panels dramatically soliloquizing and then traps Red in a wall of fire that somehow doesn't burn all the hair off Red's body (/HEADWALL) and then he DIVES DRAMATICALLY TO THE CENTER OF THE VORTEX NOOOOOOOOOO.

Chapter Thirty-Five: Vs. Mewtwo (2)
Blaine shouts that in order to defeat the Psywave attack, one must blast an equal and opposing amount of energy into the center of the vortex, which he intends to do with a DRAMATIC SUICIDE DIVE NOOOOOOOOOO.

And.... the attack dissipates, but Blaine is badly hurt. Blaine reveals that he tried to use the Master Ball on Mewtwo to catch it, but just couldn't get close enough. He smiles and waxes poetic about how much Red's character has developed, yadda yadda yadda, he made Blaine want to atone for his sins as an amoral scientist, yadda yadda yadda, Shonen Messiah et cetera, yadda yadda yadda...

oh snap, Mewtwo's still alive.

Red: CHALLENGE ACCEPTED B|

He sends Poliwrath to beat it up, but Mewtwo forms a giant ass spoon with its psychic powers and caps Poli's ass with it. Blaine shouts that Mewtwo is impossible to capture - it must be destroyed! Red sends out his team, but outnumbered, Mewtwo just forms another tornado of death. But Red was counting on that! Before the twister gets up to full power, Red dives to the center of the vortex and launches Pikachu at the beast.

With a Master Ball in his mouth.

B)

YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Red hands the captured Mewtwo's ball to Blaine, saying that if anyone can reform Mewtwo and teach him that not all humans are assholes who want to kill and/or use him, it's Blaine. And so, Red forges ahead for the Indigo Plateau...!

Chapter Thirty-Six: Vs. Dratini

Why, hello, non-plot relevance!

We see a small cute girl uncertainly making her way through the Viridian Forest, only to be attacked by a certainly non-native Dratini. Luckily, Red charges in and saves her!

HEROING

He reassures the young girl that everything's okay. The little girl is momentarily intimidated by Saur's size, but Red lets her send Pikachu out and learn the basics of Pokemoning. He helps her weaken a Rattata, and shows her how to throw a Pokeball and catch it, so she can have a Pokemon of her very own! OH MY GOD YOU GUYS THIS IS SO ADORABLE.

But a huge Golem crashes the Cute Party! JERK >C Red and the small girl are surrounded on all sides by high-level, pissy-looking Pokemon. But Red thinks quickly and they fly off on Aero, towards the girl's home city of Viridian. Red puts on a smiley face for the girl, but internally he muses with great concern over the strange behavior of the forest Pokemon. Why were so many high-leveled and exotic Pokemon out of their native habitats? What could the meaning of this be?

He drops the girl off in the city, where her uncle tells her off for going into the forest at such a dangerous time! He explains to Red that lately, the Pokemon in the forest have been acting very strangely, although they stop to have a moment of fanboying over Red's Pokedex. Red tells them that he's really tough, battled a bunch of Gym Leaders, et cetera... The townsfolk sigh that they used to have a really badass Gym, once, but ever since the Leader went missing, no trainers ever bother to stop and help drunk old men get their coffee anymore...

At hearing about the badassery of their long-lost leader, Red gets all charged up, and jets off on Gyarados to go on a MANHUNT.

But not before breaking our hearts with cuteness one last time.

And so, Red approaches the abandoned Viridian City Gym... He manages to break in using Saur's Vine Whip to crack open the doors, and peers in. Inside, he finds nothing but that half-broken Really Foreshadowy bust of the old Gym Leader, and somehow could swear he's seen that face before... :/a HMMMM.

Saur suddenly seems agitated, and tugs on Red's sleeve with his vines. Red turns to see...!

DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

Oh, and by the way. You should probably forget about that little girl. I am pretty certain she will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever be important to the plot in any capacity ever again. :|

Next time: DRAMA BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMB.
