First:
associate me! Second:
While I was raving about Star Driver, I neglected to mention how my Animorphs review was going!
Book 1: I notice that the prose is a lot more stilted in the early books, until Applegate settles into her groove. The writing style of the books is simplistic in general, since it's for kids, but when it's really good, it reads like a very minimalistic but no less sophisticated approach to sci-fi.
Book 2: Forgot how the scene with Melissa makes me cry, when Rachel-as-a-cat comforts her and she sobs, "Why don't they love me anymore?" Breaks my heart every time. My parents asked why I was tearing up.
Book 3: Oh god wow, this is the book where they tell us exactly the kinds of scary places thsi series is going to go. Tobias ;;
Book 4: I love the stuff with the whales and the dolphins in this one ^^
Book 5: Marcooooooooooooooo ;~~~~~~~~;
Book 6: I love how, in this book, they don't even try to pull off the cliche "oh mah gah they don't realize it's not Jake despite OBVIOUS EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY" thing. The rest of the Animorphs are brilliant and cautious, and they take the clearly smartest course of action, and they save Jake and their secret because of it. I love it. Also, Jake/Cassie hand-holding ;;;
Book 7: The Ellimist is weird.
Book 8: Ax decides not to be a douche and stick with the people who are actively fighting ;;
Book 9: Termites /shudders. Also, Cassie is fucking awesome and it's absolute shit the way the fanbase treats her >CCC
Book 10: I love the Chee ;;
Lol, god, half the books in this series make me cry.
Third: I HAVE TO REITERATE HOW AMAZING STAR DRIVER IS.
/camps out on anime streaming sites until Sunday, when 3 goes up
EDIT: Star Driver icon! :D
