1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Turn on your music player and put it on random/shuffle.
3. Write a drabble related to each song that plays. You only have the time frame of the song to finish the drabble; you start when the song starts, and stop when it’s over. No lingering afterwards!
4. Do ten of these, then post them.
Hmm... I feel in the mood for some random Naruto pairings.
1. I Love The Rain, by The Real Tuesday Weld (Shino/Hinata)
Shino didn't say anything when Hinata sat down next to him, sat and wrung her hair out with both hands.
"Don't you feel uncomfortable in the rain, Shino-kun?" she asked him.
He shrugged. "I don't mind it."
She surprised him by looking upward. "I love the rain." She smiled.
2. 60 Revolutions, by Gogol Bordello (Itachi/Anko)
The beat of the music grabs her wrists, flicks her hair out from her face, and flirts with her, sends her into a frenzy of sweat and swaying hips.
She winks when she sees him staring, grabs his arm and sets about to teaching him the fine art of dirty dancing.
3. Boulevard of Broken Dreams, by Green Day (Sasuke/Karin)
He just seems so set on his road sometimes, she thinks, like if he didn't need food or sleep, he'd just keep walking without them until either exhaustion claimed him or he found what he's looking for.
Whatever it happens to be.
She sometimes stays up whole nights, out of fear of waking up and finding out they moved on without her in the night.
Once she asked him what his plan was after they finished their current assignment. He didn't answer her at first, just kind of blinked, as if the question had never occurred to him. "Move on," he said, after a while.
"Just..." and she didn't know what she really meant, "you don't have to do it alone."
4. Slash and Slash, by Takeharu Ishimoto (WEWY OST) (Sakura/Sai)
His blade sprouts out of the man's torso in front of her, and he dies without a word.
"Show-off," Sakura huffs, and Sai merely smiles.
5. Headlights on Dark Roads, by Snow Patrol (Sakura/Sai)
"Sakura, I..." he's saying, almost afraid that he might choke on the words as they spilled out of him, "I don't want to go back to how I used to be." I want to live like you, laugh like you, love...
But he can't say any more than that, because she's already kissing him.
6. Yesterday's Feelings, by The Used (Sasuke/Sakura)
Sometimes her face rises up behind his eyelids. It's at odd times--when he's resting between kata, or walking outside, or when he's eating (apples do it the most often, until he makes a conscious effort to avoid them).
Eventually, it happens even after he's forgotten most of what she looks like.
7. Momentum, by Vienna Teng (Sasuke/Karin)
"Let me do this," she says, holding his arms and speaking softly into his ear. "For once."
He never relaxes in her presence, she knows, ever, but she feels less tension in his arms than usual when she kisses him, slowly and hesitantly.
She just wants to be in love, once.
He leans into it, unexpectedly, and she gasps against his mouth.
"Once," he whispers back, and she smiles.
It's all she can hope for.
8. You, by Breaking Benjamin (Sasuke/Sakura)
"We could have had something once," she says, and if there are tears in her eyes, she seems unaware of it.
He opens his mouth to speak (probably to retort snappily), and she slaps him right across it, an open-handed blow that sets his head reeling and cracks pain across his jaw.
"I'm speaking in the past tense for a reason, you see," she says, and if there are tears in her eyes, they've been burned off by the fire behind them.
9. Broken Ice, by Umbrellas (Sasuke/Karin)
It's thin, what they have, and it's why she's cautious, steps lightly and carefully. Teases, yes, fakes near-stupid attraction, often, but rarely does she actually address him for real, let the mask slip down too far.
She's afraid he might figure out she really does love him.
10. Hunter's Kiss, by Rasputina (Madara/Kushina) (yes, I am insane)
It's such a beautiful face she has, so soft and young and full of life.
It's faces like those he loves to break, to harden with betrayal, age with despair.
Her lips are soft against his, her little yellow flash boyfriend is seven blocks away and wondering, and he's already planning every footstep, every scream of ecstasy and agony, and whether it's best to strike before or after he breaks their collective little hearts.
It's just too easy.
