So my friend Rochelle/ryoko_mitsurugi is going to Anime Expo 2010, and she asked me to make her costumes for her Axis Powers Hetalia cosplay. She's dressing up as Seychelles.
A little background info on Hetalia - the countries of the world, personified in cute anime form, go to an international school and hijinks ensue. Or so I think. Anyway, this is what I made her!
Seychelles school uniform:
I'm very proud of the jumper. I knife-pleated it kilt style, all arranged perfectly on the plaid from top to bottom. That's very time consuming! The waist is a boned cincher. I had to make a few adjustments since my friend is plus-sized, but it's as accurate as budget and style would allow.
Seychelles blue dress:
The skirt on the dress is much bigger and breezier than the picture suggests. It was just a simple dress with ruffling and darts, nothing special.
