Blah, that sucks, sorry to hear that! I'm still dealing with fallout from losing an email account I haven't used in 8 years. (I still need to update FR with my gmail address, but I'm afraid of attracting attention after the whole family multi-accounting debacle.)
You should email me your email address, since I only ever used the stripedhyena one.
I came into work and started crying, lol. Luckily my boss is sympathetic.
dragonsmirk.com is fine. I'll send you the new email tonight.
Yeah, I know you were having tons of issues with the usa.net email address. So enraging. :/ I did update FR already with my new address, and it was pretty easy. You can probably do it with no fuss, I didn't need access to my old email to do it. Unless it's been locked by the admins somehow?
I may try calling Register.com again later, apparently the sites are "suspended" and the message is because of an ICANN thing. ??? However, looking through my email I didn't find a receipt for paying for the registrations, and when I looked up my bank account info this morning I didn't see a charge to Register.com. I was in a panic though and could barely think, so I may have missed it.
I'll look again tonight, because I could have sworn I saw something from register.com thanking me for renewing.
That really sucks and I'm sorry. It's practically sanctioned robbery because if anyone really wants the domain they would have made some kind of communication with you years ago, so having it bought up the instant it was available is just ransoming something that only you ever really used. That's just foul and wrong. I'm so sorry.

Still, maybe you can get them back eventually whenever the current squatters get bored. It costs them money after all.
