2006 Colorado Aids Walk

Aug 21, 2006 17:00

This year i am doing my first ever Aids Walk/Run. I've always wanted to find ways to support and take action, but never had the money or time really. Well now things are different. I signed up with my job and have already donated $50 myself. If we all take action or support our worthy causes, we can make a difference in this world instead of just complaining about it. So do it! Volunteer to causes you deem worthy in your local areas. You dont have to give money, you can simply give your time. There are tons of non-profit organizations to support. Abuse shelters, environmental organizations, to simply things like aids awareness and prevention, and breast cancer, the list is SOOO incredible long. Google.com comes up with 180 MILLION returns for "non-profit organizations". There honestly is no excuse. How can we expect things to change if we don't do something about it ourselves. Who are we expecting to take care of serious illnesses, issues, conflicts, etc?

If you do wish to donate money to the Colorado Aids Run for which i am participating in, you can do so here:

A friend of mines told me he wouldnt sponsor me unless I did the run, instead of the walk. So on Sunday, September 10th, I will be forced to jog 3.1 miles (5K) in what will hopefully be, sunny weather with a slight breeze.
