XRunningforhome - Running Into Each Other
Ever since the night at dinner, Lilah and I had really only spoken by telephone. We were both trying to ease back into this, to even see if we could seriously try this again. I didn't really like doing it like this, but it seemed to be going well, so I couldn't complain that much about the arrangement.
I needed to go by the house to pick up some stuff. Living out of a hotel room was horrible. I had kind of forgotten about that. I lived in them for almost six months after leaving Wolfram & Hart, and it hadn't been a picnic then either, but now I could throw relationship problems on top of it. For some reason, it seemed worse than running for my life.
I stopped by the house to pick up some clothes and other things, letting myself in with the key and heading upstairs to grab some stuff. I was only planning on it to be a short visit.
