So yeah, I can be a bit paranoid. Here's the latest that maybe someone will have some insight into.
So the Fraternal Order of Police keeps calling and asking for a donation. There are a few reason why I will not donate to this group. Here are two.
Growing up a skateboarder I have first-hand experience into how much of a prick police officers can be. It's pretty arbitrary and I am a bit scorned by it. And yes, skateboarders can be pricks too.
So there's that, Another is my suspicion that typically those in law enforcement vote Republican. And those who vote Republican ain't getting a dime from me, cuz they are effectively taking the dime away from everyone else. So fuck em.
So the other night they call and say they are calling on behalf of the Fraternal Order of blah blah blah, I say 'nope'. Excuse me? 'Uh, ain't ever gonna happen.' And then I hang up.
So tonight they call. Again, they are calling on behalf of the Fraternal blah blah blah. I say 'nope'. Then I hear 'This call may be monitored for your protection'.
Whoah!
This is where I need help. Why are they monitoring my calls, why are they required to tell me they are monitoring my calls? What can they do with what I say on these calls?
Fyi, more and more companies are using what you say while you are on hold in their dealings with you. Yep, you heard that correct. When you are on hold that does not mean you are not being listened to and recorded! Yeah, so if you are scheming be careful what you say when you are on hold. Depending on circumstance they might just be using what you say against you.
So my whole point is, does the Patriot Act and its provisions on communications and the sharing of that information come to play here?
