どしゃぶり - Downpour

First entry of the year. I've been pretty lazy since my trip to Nor Cal so I haven't updated in a while. 2 days of BBQ and hanging out for NYE and New Years was a blast. Got to also hit up Japantown, Hot Pot City, and the mountain passes before it was time to head back down to So Cal. The trip was shorter than usual since I had stuff to do back home, but i'll be back up there in 2 weeks anyways.

On to today's news....where the rain did not stop. After waking up it was iai as usual in Anaheim, but afterwards a few of us from the dojo headed to Santa Ana to watch a series of Asian plays that were written by a friend of my sempai at the dojo. I was surprised at first since it was in a very small theater, about 20-25 seats max, but It was a very good show IMO. You got to be up close to where everything was happening because the place was so small. I really wouldn't mind going to see it again. At the end we got to meet the actors, one of which was Japanese and was an extra in the movie The Last Samurai. He was one of the police officers in the movie in the scene where one of the characters gets his topknot cut off. After the theater I finally got a hold of Nelson after charging my phone. Although Jason and I missed Cocary we still got to hang out with him, Van, Rey, Jean, and the neko twins over at the pink pad. Getting home was the ass part...the rain was just pouring down from Pasadena to Riverside. I contemplated building an Ark to escape what seemed like a forecoming flood. Anyways, lack of sleep so off to bed.

For any of you that read this journal that might be interested, here's a link to the web site of the plays that I watched.
