CUT ME SOME SLACK. LIKE MY GOD OF ALL MY TIMES OF SEVERE WRITER'S BLOCK ITS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER AND I MEAN EVER WRITTEN THREE CHAPTERS IN ONE DAY... SO TO SPEAK. ;_; That and I love this pairing more than anything. :]

It was quiet that dark starry night. Cornelia was working on something in the dim light of the moonlight. No one else was up at this hour, not even her knight. He still slept calmly on the couch, always letting her have the bed to herself.

Guilford opened his eyes and put on his glasses. He noticed her working on something when she should be sleeping. This could only explain the reasons why she had been so tired.

“Princess…” He whispered calmly as he got up to place his arms loosely around her body. “You should be in bed sleeping.”

“I have more important matters to tend to.” She replied coldly. “You should go back to sleep, my knight.” Her lips touched his in a deep kiss.

“At three in the morning? This is why you haven’t been sleeping. I’m starting to get worried about you.” He frowned at her as she scribbled something on paper. “Please my beloved princess you must get your rest.”

Guilford took her hand and placed her pen on the desk. He guided her to bed, even as she objected to his actions. Her fight wasn’t strong since he could tell she was extremely tired.

Cornelia let his arms wrap around her, pulling her closer. She was never able to get this close to him with the war going. Her heart couldn’t always reach him when battle broke out.

“I love you.” He whispered into her ear as he pulled a few strands of her hair behind it. “My princess.”

“How many times do I have to tell you?” She smiled at him as she replied. “I’m a viceroy now.”

“Yes, that is true… but you’ll always be my princess.” He pressed his lips firmly against hers.

“Then you’ll always be my knight in shining armor.” Her eyes felt heavy as she spoke to him. “I love you, my handsome knight.”

“I love you too, princess.” He kissed her lips before she fell asleep. “And I always will my dear Cornelia.”

Guilford never called her by her name, since it was common courtesy to call her by princess or your highness. She didn’t seem to mind him calling her Cornelia when they were alone. No one was around to hear it and correct him for it.

The next morning, Cornelia sat down at the table with a simple salad. Her knight sat down beside her and shared it with her. She didn’t seem to object to sharing because she wouldn’t eat all anyway.

Guilford worried she wasn’t eating as much as she should have been. Lately she had a lot of things on her mind, most of it had to do with work but the rest had to do with her sister’s death.

“Princess, you must eat if you want to gain your strength.” He frowned as he rubbed her back. “Unless you are not feeling well.”

“I’m just not hungry, Guilford.” She replied. “I’ve had a lot on my mind lately and you know that.”

Cornelia placed her head against his shoulder and yawned. He wrapped his arms around her waist and held her close. She knew he was greatly concerned about her health.

Guilford placed a few pieces of her salad into her mouth. It was one way to get his princess to eat which she did. Her cheeks turned bright red when kept feeding her their salad.

“This is kind of embarrassing, Guilford.” She lifted her head form his shoulder.

Guilford handed her the fork and let her eat on her own. She ate some of her salad but let him eat some of it too. The two of them got up and clung to each other’s gloved hands, curling their fingers between each other’s.

“Are you going to let me go into battle this time?” She looked up at him and smiled. “I would really like to pulverize Zero.”

“I know you would, my darling princess.” He kissed her lips and smiled back. “As long as you let me fight at your side.”

“You always do and you know I never object.” She told him. “You are my knight and it’s only natural that you are there beside me.”

“My beloved princess, it’s always an honor to fight alongside you in battle.” He smiled and kissed her lips a few more times. “I don’t do it just because I am your knight but because I love you so dearly.”

“And I love you dearly as well.” She placed her arms around his neck, pressing her lips firmly against his. “Not because I am your princess either.”

“But my sweetheart… you are my princess, remember?” He smiled and cradled her in his warm embrace. “Everything I do, I do it for you.”

“You two really need to grow up. We are fighting a war and we have no time for silly romance.” Darlton replied coldly as he walked by. “It’s also unnatural for a princess to fall in love with her knight.”

“There’s no law against it.” She replied in response. “Besides, love has no boundaries and you should know that more than anyone.”

“A princess, or a viceroy, for that matter shouldn’t be wasting her time with romance. I will not remind you each time I catch you two together.” He didn’t approve of their relationship.

“You are not under the command to tell me what to do.” She growled at him. “I am a woman who is entitled to being loved.”

“And you are loved, my dear princess.” Guilford smiled as he placed his arms around her stomach. “You are very loved, indeed.”

“You enjoy flattering me, don’t you?” Her cheeks turned pink again as he placed his lips firmly against hers. “I guess that’s why I love you so much.”

“And I love you as well, my princess.” He scooped her up into his arms and carried her to her throne, only making her blush more.

“Wasn’t our relationship supposed to be a secret?” She looked up at him but couldn’t help smile.

“It’s supposed to be, yes.” He stood beside her as he always did. “I just can’t help myself sometimes.”

Cornelia had gotten bored just waiting for Zero. He hadn’t shown up at all that day which made her angry. Her knight scooped her into his arms again and carried her off to bed.

“Good night my darling princess, Cornelia.” He kissed her lips a few times while smiling at her. “I love you.”

“I love you as well, my handsome knight.” She blushed when he kissed her lips several more times. “Good night, Guilford.”

Guilford held her close in his arms, refusing to let go of her. He would do anything for as a knight or not. His life revolved around her safety and he wouldn’t trade their love for anything.
