T-Minus 15 Days to the Beginning of the End
My room looks pretty much exactly like it did 3 months ago, when I packed up all my stuff from the dorms and deposited them on the floor of my room, which is where they've remained and will remain until I move into the apartment, ha.
Apparently today/yesterday was National Buy a Book Day, which was interesting because a couple of friends wanted to go visit some independent bookstores anyway, so I ended up purchasing books from two different bookstores on Buy a Book Day. Go figure.
One of them was volume 1 of Ooku, the Fumi Yoshinaga manga that Nino's new movie was based on. I actually had been looking for it for a couple of months now at all the bookstores I happened to be at, and for some bizarre reason, the only volume that the stores never ever had was the first. (My theory is that there are many more J-pop/J-actor fans in the area who wanted vol. 1 to preview what the movie would be like...or that a lot of people like Fumi Yoshinaga. LOL)
Also ended up buying a couple of Neil Gaiman books (the only work of his I've read was Good Omens, and that was a co-write with Terry Prachett) and a book called The Secret Lives of Great Composers. Hopefully they're interesting reads...but at the same time, I should really be practicing or composing or arranging or packing...or doing something more productive than reading.
There's so much stuff to be doing, but instead I while away hours watching old episodes of Arashi variety shows and generally making even more of a mess in my already chaotic room. I need to have something to do, like moving in, but I'm not ready to give up the (relatively) peaceful summertime lifestyle yet. It hasn't really felt like I experienced summer this year, except for my trip with the 'rents to Vegas, which was barely 5 days. I'm probably also kind of bitter that I didn't get to go anywhere outside the country this year, even though I really wanted to.
Man, I was so awake when I started writing this, and now I'm drifting off in between lines. I guess the boba's effect is finally wearing off.
