In Which I am a Long-Winded Nerd

Guess who's a licensed and insured driver now?! :DDDDD

Even though I don't actually have the physical driver's license card in my hand yet, I'VE ACCOMPLISHED MY ONE AND ONLY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION ♥ That's kind of sad, LOL

Now all that's left to do is pack a whole school year's worth of crap in 2 days and set off on my merry way towards college again.

IL DIVO'S NEW ALBUM HAS A TITLE! "The Promise" - interestingly enough, it's not in Spanish. (Does this mean more songs will be in English on this album? Hmmm.) I'm pretty interested to hear the old Il Divo sound but with different twists, which the guys have been hinting at throughout their hiatus/work on the album. ♥

And after months of bleeding out of my wallet for various Arashi goods, they've all suddenly flooded in together! The Maou harmonica necklace (which is tiny and about the length of half of my pinkie finger but still cute, and comes in a small replica of the original wooden music box), a blue 24 Hr TV t-shirt (which I bought in medium thinking it would be a perfect fit but has ended up a little big, but that's fine), a purple Kokuritsu T-shirt (it is "free-sized", meaning it only comes in one size, which is kind of scary because it's pretty much perfect for me, meaning the guys are that much skinnier than me because IT'S BAGGY ON THEM), and the "Arashi is Alive" photobook (some of the pictures in there = GORGEOUS, but why so many black and whites? Damn your artistic editing tendencies, Shueisha!).

And then I caught up on the latest subbed D no Arashi episodes (Sho + Ohno + costumes + "Leave It Alone" house = WIN) and Himitsu no Arashi-chan (haunted house again next week, this time with Sho! YAYYYY) and marathon-ed the rest of Maou (5 episodes in one run, whoo) because I did NOT want to be spoiled for it, and wow, I was teary-eyed through a lot of those episodes. And then I watched the last 15 minutes of the K-drama version just to see how the endings compared (one pretty insignificant but funny difference - in Maou, people walk/run to their locations, while in Mawang, everyone drives, LOL. I bet Ohno not having his driver's license had a bit to do with that. xD;;;) Right afterward the sobfest, SNL came on with Tina Fey doing a Sarah Palin imitation so well I thought the vice presidential candidate herself was actually on the show, so I laughed myself silly after the emotional roller-coaster ride. A-anyway.

Also, promotions that Toma and Ohno did for the last episode of Maou were super cute, too, and it was probably a better idea for me to watch them after the end of the drama, because I could focus more on their reactions instead of the promos. Toma and Kobayashi Ryoko (Shiori's actress) surprising Ohno after his crank-up were super cute, as was Tanaka Kei (Kasai's actor) and Ryoko ambushing Toma after his. xD I...really hope they put extras like this on the DVD box set. Which is ridiculously expensive. D:

(Randomly, Miyake, the actor who plays Toma's boss, used to host the cooking show "Dotch!" with Sekiguchi (I think that's his name), the older of the two hosts for "Tokyo Friend Park II". So it was funny seeing him be so serious in Maou, compared to the attitude he had to host the cooking show, though you can totally see him joking around with Ohno and Toma in the "Ousama no Brunch" promo for the last episode.)

I also finally got my butt around to watching that TV appearance where Toma and most of the "ikemen" cast of Maou get hit on by female comedians. Some of the stuff really was funny, but other parts (including one lady's crazy person skit, which I totally did not get) were actually kind of creepy. LOL. But Haruna Ai teasing Toma for liking her act will never get old. xD

So "Bleach" is finally kicking into gear again after a long flashback arc and some chapters of nothing but trash talk, haha. I have to say, I'm glad Kubo Tite is letting some of the shinigami lieutenants finally show their stuff, especially Kira. I'm still waiting for Matsumoto's special sword skill to be actually fully depicted, though. And when are Keigo and Tatsuki going to join the fight?! D:

I binge-read "Soul Eater" and "Fairy Tail" after reading a couple of chapters of each and getting sucked into yet more fantasy-shounen-action worlds. *sigh* And then I marathon-ed the anime for "Soul Eater", which I actually like just as much as the manga, a rare thing for me. (But where is the next chapter of the manga, the last was a crazy cliffhanger! *claws at screen*) "Fairy Tail" reminds me a lot of "One Piece" (both art- and story-wise), but it's got its own unique aspects. Plus, a talking blue cat is one of the main characters! ♥

I had been following "Double Arts" ever since it started popping up on onemanga.com, but it is now over after 23 chapters! Which makes me really sad, because it was a cute take on the typical shounen adventure manga, with both a boy and a girl as double lead characters. I guess it was a little too shoujo-y for Shounen Jump, which cancelled it. :( Boooo. Well, I hope the mangaka comes back with another title. The art was very nicely done, too.

AND OH MY GOSH. I inadvertently squeaked when I read the latest scanlated FMA chapter because A NEW ANIME SERIES IS IN THE WORKS! I really don't like it when the anime strays too far from the original material, but if it's getting another series then maybe they'll follow the current storyline! And I hope they get the original voice actors for Ed and Al, because otherwise it won't be the same :<
