10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Let's see I got stabbed with a dirty needle at work and had to get my blood worked up til 6 months after; I got a fiberglass splinter (more like a shard) embedded in my hand for about 6 months and had to have it surgically removed; my husband had a septoplasty and his wisdom teeth out (and even though it wasn't personal, it still counts); and I caught this bug that half the OR had that lasted like 2 weeks to be completely better.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
You guessed it-- a house.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My mom's. She became a US citizen!

A couple of people who will remained unnamed-- I copied Bex.

Alex having her baby; Mom being naturalized; Peep's Liz announcements.

"How Far We've Come," Matchbox 20 -- I concur; oh yeah and "Shake It" by Metro Police
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
1. Happier or sadder? Happier
2. Thinner or fatter? Thinner I hope, though it is right after Christmas so possibly the same
3. Richer or poorer? Should be poorer cuz of the house and lack of a raise but I haven't really felt a recession or ill effects
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Traveled.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Freaking out and being a bitch.

Spent Christmas eve with sister and Hubby; Christmas with Hubby's family

That means just once right? Too many to count! JK I'm happily married!.
24. What was your favourite TV programme?
Dexter
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Hate is such a strong word. Thoroughly dislike? Have absolutely no respect for? Deserves to be castrated with a rusty knife? Yeah I can think of one.
26. What was the best book(s) you read?
The Twilight Series (did I really read all of those this year??)
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Rockband 2 for Xbox360

A fully stocked kitchen (meaning cooking supplies like bakeware and different sized ice-cream scoops and better measuring tools)
30. What were your favourite films of this year?
Prince Caspian (did that come out this year?) Indiana Jones wasn't bad. Have I really been to that few of movies?

Not having to work with incompetent surgeons.

Scrubs; Athletic wear; Business attire
34. What kept you sane?
Cooking.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Hugh Jackman and your mom
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
It was mostly having a heart-to-heart with my husband; I never fully understood his political views before and I don't think he ever really gave me the opportunity to show him that I have the ability to listen to him without forcing my own opinion on him (like his mom). We actually have a lot of the same views but come up with different conclusions and solutions.
37. Who did you miss?
my parents and another someone who used to be very close to me but has since dropped off the radar
38. Who was the best new person you met?
I made some cool friends at work
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008!
You don't need to have "a group" of friends that gets along. You don't even need to belong to a "group." 'Friends' come and go-- the ones who stick around no matter what happens in your life or their own are the ones worth fighting for
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year?
"Carry on my wayward son
They'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more"
