Well, it’s been 9 days since her surgery. We're going to call on Monday to see when we can get the stitches taken out. She had 3 nights of meds, the one was posted last time, then on Saturday night the video was just too dark, and on Sunday she realized they really don’t taste good and it look her longer to take them, but I just sort of held her back (she was still in her cage so she was upright) and put it by her mouth and she ate it... so still never had to do a bunny burrito).
She hasn’t bitten the stitches at all!
So I would change her bedding regularly but in between changes I would put all the poops in the garbage, well I would have a paper towel to pick them up and she would grab it from me, so I put it on her head…
I have a small amount of mint and parsley growing in the kitchen and the mint was getting really long so I wanted to see if she would enjoy it…. And boy she did! She ate a big long string of it, and what did I do with the leftovers? Well I put it on her head of course!
Everything was going so well, I felt bad for her being cooped up in the little cage so on her 4th day home we waited outside for the mail (I held her) and when the wind would come she would *sniff sniff sniff!” so I HAD to let her sit on the porch for a bit!
Heres a couple videos from her being on the porch!

Since she was doing so well we decided we should take her to the park and see how she does… So I got one of my soft socks and cut a hole in it for her butt and leg to come out of but cover her stitches and away we went!
She was quite impressed with everything going on, not quite sure what to do… so I took her to a spot with some long grass for a picture.
We then went to the little “island” that we take the boys to all the time… She then tried to clean herself, and is learning how to with one hand… (I try to get her to lean on things so she can use both but she hasn’t caught on yet)
Alex brought some stuff to put on the buns for pics….
And I must say, Unchkin looks good in uniform!
I asked Alex to take a group pic so I could send my shirt pic into
Threadless and so we gathered the buns, and made sure they were separate enough so no one would attack the other…
Then we played a little longer and headed home!
She was snug as a bug in a rug, although she thought it would be fun to scare mamma and hop out a couple times (good thing she was buckled into it!)
We went to the park again, and I forgot her sock, so we left the leashes on everyone and played in the grass, even though Unchkin insisted on going around a trash can (cement)…
She then decided to remind Umlaut who the boss is! She nipped him in the butt a couple times, but he was so nice and just would move…
We then went to the other area and I let her sit on a towel while Ezmo and Umlaut play play played!
So tonight I’m going to be working on getting her area all set up next to Umlauts (we’re moving everything around!) so that she’ll be able to hop more and will start learning to use only one leg more!
I also want to mention that this experience has been such a unique one… Unchkin is so freaking strong, she insists on doing things herself! Sometimes I get sad when we’re cuddling though, and I’ll just tell her how sorry I am that this happened to her… Like the times were at the park, and she has the harness on and I realize she never got to know the fun of having that harness on with all 4 legs… but then she cheers me up with all the determination in the world…
I really want to thank everyone on
BLU for all their support and donations. (and an extra special thanks to Chris, Pam & Jo - Chris and Pam sent me some funds to help me stay in the bunny swap, and then later I rec’d some watercolor bunny pins from one of the BLU girl’s Etsy shop. And Jo send some peppermint and some other kinda herb for the buns!) I’ve never had people come together like this for me and it makes my heart gleam with happiness… so one big huge e-hug is sent in that direction…
