"Sir, you have a guest", the maid spoke before leaving.
jaejoong looked at the young boy, he looked no older than sixteen, and...those eyes.
His eyes widened as he walked closer, slowly, not wanting to have this moment be a dream,"changmin?", his voice broke as tears fell from his eyes.
What was he supposed to say? And why did it hurt so much?
"My son...", jaejoong spoke those words so gently, so carefully, as he approached him wrapping his arms around his son, his baby "this is real", changmin let himself be embraced but he didn't feel anything and yet it was really hurting him right now, he wanted to do the same thing as the one hugging him, he wanted to cry.
"jaejoong?", Yunho walked towards them confused at the current situation, he looked between his wife and his guest for a few moments until he realized. Yunho hugged his son, he was getting irritated about that, these people were hugging him as if he meant something to them? Parents? That must be a cruel lie. He didn't know them and he didn't like to be hugged by strangers, it was invading his personal space.
jaejoong motioned for them to take a seat, changmin choose to sit across from them clearly ignoring the hurt look on jaejoong's face.
Minutes were hours or at least that was what it seemed to changmin, he could feel them staring at him, inspecting him as if he was something unusual, out of this universe.
He didn't expect to be feeling so much anger and he didn't like it because it was hurting him so much right now. He wasn't sure what to do but at the same time he felt that it didn't matter because he didn't have anything to prove to them, right now any words coming from them meant nothing-was nothing.
"I can't believe you're here right now", jaejoong tried to keep his breathing steady, he was so happy but at the same time he was extremely nervous because he knew things would not be turning out so well. He noticed it when he hugged his own son, he could feel the tension, the reluctancy.
changmin stared at them almost as if this situation wasn't affecting him, but he knew he'd probably cry soon.
"We tried so hard to find you but we always failed, we can't begin to tell you how painful it was to not have you with us for all these years", Yunho spoke trying to explain the situation because he knew he'd probably get no more but a few words in before things went wrong, he was a father, he knew.
changmin closed his eyes as his eyebrows furrowed angrily,"From what I've seen you've had time to fill that vast painfulness throughout the years", changmin snapped his eyes open as he stared at all the frames sitting on the desks, mocking him.
"It's not like that changmin", he didn't like how his name sounded coming from that man,"We blame ourselves for bringing an innocent child when we were in no position to. We have never regretted having you or any of our children, the only thing we regret is hurting you".
Yunho felt hopeless he never felt so useless it was a feeling that made him want to give up and die because it hurt so much but at the same time he wanted to give it all he had because this was one of his kids, this was changmin.
"We want you to be a part of this family changmin, we want to be a part of your life, I just want to be there for my son", jaejoong felt himself looking away momentarily from changmin, he was out of ideas, he didn't know what to do right now, the look on his son's face wasn't going away. It was as if he was looking at a stranger....he couldn't explain in what way it was hurting him.
"Please....give us a chance to be your parents, to become a part of your life", changmin stood up abruptly, this was too much already,"I may not have had the world's greatest parents but you have no right to be making any requests right now, you have no right to expect anything from me right now, not the words,"Father" or "Mother" keep wishing because these words will never be spoken from my mouth".
changmin turned rushing out the mansion, with jaejoong behind him but Yunho grabbed his arm shaking his head.
He fell to the floor, his son, his flesh and blood hated him. He was...it was.... he felt his breath constricting he couldn't breathe, falling backwards into sleep....it was better than anything right now.
