*nods* I have seen many rounds of this. It starts off as a writing exercise, but it degenerates into a popularity contest... it's more like "Survivor" than like a writing contest, with alliances and betrayals and nervous breakdowns. It's painful even to watch. I wouldn't participate. I get enough nastiness from the nightly news.
I've seen some people say they're playing the "home game" - writing from the prompts without jumping into the shark-infested waters. Maybe start there, and go into The Real LJ Idol next round if for some reason the drama-slide reverses itself?
