"Have I Got News For You!"

So, I've been very busy with the play I'm helping out in- and so I've managed to neglect a very important announcement...

I'm going to be an aunt!!

[I can't really see the baby either- but it's four months- the yellow square is where the heart is]
That said, it's not my sister's. My brother's girlfriend is pregnant. It's due sometime in October!
The news really came as a shock to me, but I'm very excited!!
Plus, now when I get back home I can take care of her (or at least be part of the whole experience) AND I can plan a baby shower.

Someone posted this picture of Richard Burton at vintagephoto and I really liked it:

It's a good portrait.

Monday I went to the Vanity Fair Portrait Exhibition at the National Gallery- some really stunning photos (so pretty, I actually bought the book!).
A couple of my faves (that I could find online)

I want a picture like this :)

Joan Crawford and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. by Nikolas Muray (1929)

Gloria Swanson by Edward Steichen (1924)

I couldn't stop looking at this one- it looked JUST like a painting.

Julianne Moore by Michael Thompson (2000)

Call me handsome...

Leslie Howard by Edward Steichen (1933)

Fanny Brice by Edward Steichen (1923)

God, look at that bone structure!

Katherine Hepburn by Cecil Beaton (1935)

Since we're on the cheekbone 'theme'...
This is Keira in her new film:

She looks really good.

But back to the play: Yesterday night was the first performance, but the director treated it as an open rehearsal. Of course, I f*cked up. But it was "okay", as I hadn't done the end lighting cues before (the lighting guy had to fix some things during the run-through). So that was the first time I dealt with those.
I was so nervous, but glad it worked out (minus the "disco" lights that were not supposed to happen...).
Now I'm sad I won't be touring to Spain with them! The cast is amazing- I think the main young actress is REALLY good. And the main guy has a lot of charisma. That, and he's hilarious!

Ok. This was a long, random, rambling entry!
