"Could be worse, could be raining."
Now, while the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and there are only pretty, white, fluffy clouds in the sky (as opposed to the Anvils of Doooom that we've had there recently) NOW is when my power goes out. Lovely. Ah well, there's others far far worse off than I and it should be sorted by the time I get home from the Geocaching meetup tonight. They're probably dealing with the tree and a half that came down on a house halfway down the block.
It was interesting to note how deeply ingrained habit is, while putting my clothes away, for example, I flipped the light switch every time I went into the closet, even though the flashlight was already on and lit inside.
The recent outages have definitely been good for local businesses though, The Rainbow Restaurant was JAMMED and Caribou has been so busy they're running out of things to eat and bottled drinks.
I'm very glad I did my laundry last night and just as happy to live close to a friendly Caribou, where internet access usually only costs $1.50 an hour, but I think they've decided not to insist on a purchase here, for the duration.
