it's broken;
my veins fall out my skin
like a heavy shirt out of the window
they wrap around my ankles and crawl
toward the tips of my toes
my cocoon
needs repair i'm out of my league
100 steps from my fortress
i/sink/in/the/bedsheets/of/my/flesh;
you are watering my thoughts
my mouth is wet
my saliva encases my tongue
fingernails emit light. hair emits heat.
My flesh- textured like
honeycomb.
combing my hair now
is like dragging a hoe thru weeds
it was breaking.
my veins started to fall out of my skin
like drop cloth out a window.
i step out onto the ground. i'm walking
thru cold milk. i bathe myself in honey.
silk-woven slumber: i sink into the sheets.
they twist around me, mental cocoon,
i wrap my arms around my pillow.
my hands go to fists.
the plants on my nightstand photosynthesize.
o, to breathe in . . green misty atmosphere pouring
into my pores
making skin harden + now i'm a statue.
