Well~ After a wonderful weekend lounging around in bed and two days unpacking and exploring my new home, I'm really starting to feel settled in here

Haunted is certainly an interesting explanation. I've heard magic as another reason for how they work. I don't believe you're talking to a ghost though. The other person that's written back isn't a ghost. He's a strange monkey. A very strange monkey and one that's also a thief. He tried to steal Yukari's bracelet. It wasn't very nice of him but then, he was rather rude and filthy.
If it looks, acts, and sounds like a monkey, then it is a monkey. Just because you have that stuff now doesn't change the fact that you started as a dirty thief who tried to steal from the silly girl.
Well if you're not a monkey, then what are you? You certainly seem to act and sound like a breed of monkey, though obviously a strange one that's native to this land. Or rather, whatever land you seem to be from since I doubt you're from Sailand.
That's what the quill's previous owner thought, at least. But I'm not a believer in ghosts, or in magic, really. There's probably a more reasonable explanation, even if it is currently unknown.
A strange monkey? I wasn't aware monkeys could write, no matter how strange... You certainly don't seem to be this "monkey"'s fan.
He's some strange monkey that's native to this land. The only one I've run across. He doesn't like me because I was going to eat him. I'm not now and it's probably for the best as I'm sure he'd make my stomach upset. I still say it would be fun to hunt him. He'd be fun to try and catch.
He doesn't look like any of the monkeys I saw back on the island. I've seen a lot of different monkeys too which is why he's the strange monkey. I'm surprised you've seen them though. I've yet to meet someone in Sailand that knows of them outside of pets of street performers.
I'm not going to eat him now. I didn't eat him before because Yukari wouldn't let me and since the strange monkey can read and write, that means he's not entirely worthless. He shouldn't worry and the hunting would just be a fun exercise. I wouldn't hurt him, just track and catch the guy.
Admittedly, that's how I've seen the monkeys I have. In books, or as pets or performers. I can't honestly say I've ever actually seen a monkey in its natural habitat.
Even being tracked and caught is frightening to some, you know.

And yes...I don't think I'd like you much either, if you were going to eat me like that. Or hunt me, for that matter.
