I love the text choice for the first. And the coloration on the second -- it's beautiful.

The text on both is so hard to read... In the first one, it's just that the black doesn't really pop out very well, and the second line is very small for that font... The second, the color, again, just doesn't pop. Wish I could come up with more specific crit. /swt I really do like both of them, though!

Thank you very much for replying! I actually meant for the text on the second one to be subtle, but I think I overdid it.

I like the choice of wording on the first -- interesting quote for the theme (fear, if I remember correctly). The font is lovely, and you did some nice cropping; but the image looks a little pixelated. =/ I also don't like the border much (Maybe if you had used a different colour, not forest green? The shape is cool.), and the second line of text is difficult to read.

I love how you made the hands red. =D But it also makes it hard to see the contrast between the hands and the rose. I don't know what you could do about that...maybe make the hands a more pale red (not lighter or brighter, but more washed-out?). The font is BEAUTIFUL, and once again I like the text; but because it's red it's 1] hard-ish to read, and 2] the red rather overwhelms the icon.

You're welcome! ^.^

What program do you use to make your icons? If you use MS Paint, I can give you some pointers on making things clearer/less pixel-ated.

GIMP. From messing around with it again a bit today, I seem to keep pixelating it when I mess with the colors.

Ah, yes. I wish I had GIMP, but I'm not allowed to download it, so I've had to learn to be good with Paint. =D

Don't worry though, after a while with GIMP, you'll get to be really super awesome. You just have to crank out the icons for the first little while, and most of them will turn out good after that (I still have my bad ones).

I like the concept, the brush, and the crop. The text is the weak point. I'd use a different font - that one looks like something that'd be on a diner sign, heh. Maybe something a bit more ragged or grungy. Also, "the tide is coming" is really small, almost unreadable - you could probably make it a tad bigger and still have space.

I like the red a lot; a drop shadow would probably help the text become more readable. All of the red makes it look like it was saved poorly - when you have that much red, it's best to save it as a .gif or .png.
