Today I was reading some political policy information on Centrists.org, as well as on the Libertarian Party website. I don't really agree with the Libertarians, but they have well thoughtout policy articles on their website. Anyway, it seems that the average American's personal income is $35,000 per year. Indeed. I thought that everyone was doing this independently, but if it took the place of Social Security, then that would make it more effective. I hadn't actually heard of this as a formal Government idea, but I like it.

Yeah, so I told my parents what I heard and what I thought, and lo and behold I'm only allowed to be free thinking if I freely decide to agree with them. :)

I don't know if I put this in my post, but here's the statistic: make $35,000 a year, put the normal Social Security contribution into your retirement fund, retire at 55 as a millionaire. Obviously, if you intend to make more than $35,000 a year or retire later, this amount goes up by a staggering amount.

That's a universal parenting technique. You're free to look at the facts, but you have to draw the same conclusions. Otherwise, you might grow up to be... *GASP* A separate thinking entity, independent from your parents. Heaven forbid.
