He was free to be himself, without needing to abide by the strict expectations of today's society. In one of Yassu's recent jweb entries he was taking about how he liked to wear skirts in public. It bothers him that people frown on that pushing of gender boundaries, but Yassu also said that he wouldn't force his views on others. There was this underlying implication that he was happy in his own skin -- as if to say, that if he was weird, he didn't really mind. Your fic reminded me of this entry.
He must be the happiest boy alive. This was beautiful, and brought a huge smile to my face. ♥
I read that entry as well - coincidentally just as I was poking this thing, wondering if I'd even half managed to capture Yasu's character.
Reading that (and previous) entries and interviews strengthened my idea that he has a strong sense of self, with his own values and beliefs... and those are not always the same as those around him. He is aware of that, but doesn't mind - and he's not planning to change his entire being just to please others, either.
Thank you for your reply, because it brought a huge smile to my face. ♥~
I really think this applies to him. He is always so cheerful and genki. It's rare to see him upset or down. He always looks like he is having so much fun doing the things he is doing.
Yasu seems like he always gives his all in everything he does, trying to be the best he can... and he manages to derive pleasure from it in the process. (Of course, he must have his ups and downs just live everybody else - but he doesn't allow his 'downs' to keep him down.) It's something I greatly admire in him. ♥
*beams* I was all wibbly over whether or not to post this, but I think I'm glad I let myself be convinced after all. XD; Thank you for your comment! I'm really happy you think I managed to capture his personality in here. ♥
I love the entirety of K8, but Yasu is my number one. He makes me feel good and squeefull - so I wanted to write down just what it is about him that makes me feel that way. *loves on him*
