I am a writer.  I post stories I write on Slash! at the Disco.  Here is my rant.  If you read my stories, you might want to read this

Wow.

I have posted 20-something stories so far on Slash! at the Disco and so far, none of them have gotten many comments.

I don't understand it.  I mean, I don't want to brag or anything, but I know that I am a decent

Darling, I understand exactly where you're coming from. Thank you for stepping up and posting this to the rest of the world. I mean, some of the stories posted (ie: LISLI, Sheets) are kinda expected, you wait so long and well. it's kinda an addicting story.

I myself don't get many comments, but the ones I do get are one of two things; genuine and amazing, or they sound like they were written by the same 6 year old who posts the stories that get all the comments (ie: omgzzz that was sooooo guud! mmrs.)

So I try my hardest to post to every story I read. Even if it's just a really lame comment (like, yay or something) and makes me feel like I'm a poser who doesn't know how to write. But sometimes I just don't read stories.

I guess what it comes down is to the length. The more lengthy the story and the more defined the plot, the more comments. Standalone=no comments.

If I don't ever post a comment to your stories, I'm sorry. I probably do really like them, I'm jsut to lazy to comment, or I read them in my message centre.

Same here.

I want somments with substance and advice. 'I love you's' are nice, but not very helpful.

I try to throw comments that have some substance, but it doesn't happen very often - makes me feel horrible.
