A couple of my colleagues over at the AJC do a column called the Political Insider. From today's installment:
"Physically, politicians are prettier than journalists, have more elaborate plumage, and thus reproduce in greater numbers. Yet society requires a certain quantity of journalists to thin the herd.
"Otherwise, roving swarms of politicians would strip the countryside of forage and all of them would starve. Sometimes you must be cruel to be kind."
