You have a left-handed second baseman who hit .305 last year in a lineup plagued by offensive inconsistency and a lack of lefties.
What do you do?
Why, try to trade him, of course.
Now, I know the Cubs have never been the, ahem, brightest team when it comes to trades. But for weeks I have been trying to figure out why you trade Todd Walker. I think the front office just hates him. Only reason I can figure it out.
Oh well. Here we go. Trading off a great player once again so that we can platoon Neifi "I can hit for a month and then I'll bomb" Perez and Jerry "I'm only here because the Orioles were the only team stupid enough to take Sammy Sosa" Hairston Jr.
Sometimes, I think we shouldn't blame the goat.
